Total Eclipse Over Birmingham
While in Birmingham, Alabama next month, Mason Holland, Chairman and CEO of Eclipse Aerospace, will present the story of Eclipse Aerospace and its rescue of the Eclipse twin-engine jet — the world's most efficient very light jet — to the Birmingham business and aviation community.
Hosted by the Birmingham Aero Club, the one-hour presentation will begin at 12:00PM on Wednesday, June 8th, in the Assembly Room of Balch & Bingham, LLP, 1901 Sixth Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama. Holland is expected to recount the progression towards success for Eclipse Aerospace, including its new partnership with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, producer of the BLACKHAWK helicopter and other iconic aircraft. Eclipse Aviation, manufacturer of one of the world's most advanced general aviation aircraft, the Eclipse twin-engine jet, went through some turbulent times with the investment and credit markets of 2008 and 2009. Having purchased the assets of Eclipse Aviation in 2009, the new company, Eclipse Aerospace, is pleased to offer the fully completed Total Eclipse aircraft. Traveling at speeds in excess of 425 MPH at an altitude of 41,000 feet, this Very Light Jet consumes only 60 gallons of fuel an hour — less than any other twin-engine jet in production today.
Earlier this year, Eclipse Aerospace received a capital investment from production partner, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. In addition to a capital investment, Eclipse Aerospace will leverage Sikorsky supply chain resources, distribution channels, engineering talent, and manufacturing experience. Holland, alongside of Jeff Pino, President of Sikorsky Aircraft, recently held a joint keynote address for current Eclipse Aerospace customers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, laying the groundwork for future plans for Eclipse Aerospace and the Total Eclipse aircraft.
In addition to the presentation by Mason Holland, the Total Eclipse aircraft will be on display at Atlantic Aviation-West, located at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, for viewing prior to and following the event.
