On April 24-27, Eclipse Aerospace, Inc. and its European Distributor, Aeris Aviation took part in the 21st AERO Friedrichshafen 2013, Europe's largest European Light Aviation and General Aviation air show. The trade show is held annually in Friedrichshafen, Germany just across Lake Konstanz. AERO constantly surprises the aviation community with new, innovative design announcements. This year's show featured more than 600 exhibitors from 30 countries with more than 30,000 visitors from all over the world.

The trade show is the prime meeting place for the GA community and a key interface for the International Market of aircraft sales. With its central location in Europe, the city of Friedrichshafen provides excellent access to major European markets such as Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France as well as many countries in Eastern Europe.

This was the first time Eclipse Aerospace exhibited at the show, and the show was a tremendous success. "We had over 100 visitors each day, come to see and experience the new Total Eclipse as well as learn about the new EA550 slated for sale later this year," stated Ken Ross, President, Global Services and Support, Eclipse Aerospace, Inc. "In fact, Eclipse took several orders for the Total Eclipse and new Eclipse 550."

There was enthusiastic support for the Eclipse Jet, as the Eclipse was the only twin-engine light Jet exhibited at the show. Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) is one of the world´s premier aerospace and defence events and holds a prominent position within the aviation and defence calendar. Labace has established itself as the world's second largest business aviation fair, and as Latin America's largest. During the three days of last year's fair, the exhibitors, among them the the largest players in the world market, welcomed over 15,000 visitors. For 2012, the outlook is no different. Even though more exhibition area is available, competition for spaces remains fierce.

Brazil is experiencing a special moment in terms of economic growth and its place in the world. The world is watching what happens here and many companies, especially in the business aviation segment, are alert to the movements of the country's market, undoubtedly one of the most promising today. Moreover, the country is going through major changes in terms of airport infrastructure, with the wave of privatizations and investments. Africa's largest aerospace, defence, and security exhibition is moving to what many have called the world's most beautiful city. Africa Aerospace & Defence, AAD 2010, will be held in Cape Town from 21 - 25 September 2010.

The 2010 Ysterplaat Airshow programme is difficult to structure precisely due to the nature of an air show, but you can expect to be wowed all day long by spectacular airborne trickery from some of the world's greatest airplanes.

According to exhibition director, Mr Geoff van Hees, three new national pavilions have increased AAD2010 by more than 1,200 square metres in display area.

"Some 80 per cent of the exhibition space has already been booked, which is remarkable considering the worldwide economic situation that has impacted on the global aerospace and defence industry," Van Hees says.

"The fact that Turkey, China and the United States of America have all booked large national pavilions at AAD2010 underlines their confidence in South Africa and in the potential for business here. It is the first time these three countries are exhibiting at AAD2010 as national pavilions."

35 countries, 350 exhibitors!

The organizers of AAD2010 hope to surpass the previous numbers of some 350 exhibiting companies from 35 countries. Some 80 foreign delegations from around the world have been invited, many from Africa, as well as the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
