GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, structural, electromechanical or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems. Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in a prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assuring that shop equipment and tools used are in a serviceable working condition, and that required checks and calibrations have been accomplished on special tools and test equipment prior to use.
Ascertaining that necessary maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders for the assigned work function have been properly executed.
Maintaining the premises of the repair station in a clean and orderly manner.
Maintaining high quality work in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations.
Observing the safety precautions relevant to any operation in the maintenance department.
Always using required technical data (in accordance with the latest revisions) on all aircraft, engines, and appliances, for the maintenance accomplished. The data will include manufactures’ maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data, and any other technical data available through the repair station.
Assuring the proper handling of all parts while in the repair process and when the work is completed.
Maintaining the preservation of all units or parts during the work process, installation, and storage.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Required:
Must be thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations in 14 CFR Part 145 and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations are being performed.
Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected.
